Stripe processing fee

~2.9% + 30cper card payment

Paid to Stripe directly, the same as if you used Stripe anywhere else. Zillo doesn’t add anything on top.

Why call this out? A lot of platforms hide processing inside one big number. We’d rather be explicit. Stripe is the company processing payments for Shopify, Amazon, Booking.com, and millions of other businesses.

All-in: about 6% of every sale. Compared with Eventbrite (7–8%) or Peek (6%+), you keep more, with a better setup experience.

International cards, FX, and dispute fees follow standard Stripe pricing.

Pricing FAQ

The fine print, without any fine print.

More on how it works on the How it works page, including the support model and how Stripe Connect handles your money.

  • Why 3%?

It’s the smallest number that covers a serious commerce stack: checkout, hosting, fraud protection, customer self-service, our staff’s time, our AI’s answer key. Eventbrite charges 7–8% for less. Shopify charges $29 a month plus payment processing whether you sell or not. We picked one number that scales with your revenue.

  • What about refunds?

When you refund a customer, our 3% refunds with it. No clawbacks, no clipboards, no “please email accounts”. The maths is symmetric: you get the customer’s money when they buy, you give it back when they ask, and our cut moves with yours.

  • What does Stripe charge?

Around 2.9% + 30c per card transaction in NZ and Australia, paid directly to Stripe. The same as if you used Stripe anywhere else. Stripe is the company powering payments at Shopify, Amazon, Booking.com, and millions of others.

  • Are there setup fees?

No. Zillo is free until your first sale. Test mode is free forever, so you can see exactly what your customer experience looks like before flipping the switch.

  • What about international cards or currency conversion?

Standard Stripe rates. Zillo doesn’t add anything on top of what Stripe charges for cross-border or FX. You set the currency in your dashboard.

  • What if I want to leave?

Export your customer list as a CSV any time, cancel any time, take your domain with you. We’re not in the business of holding your data hostage.
